Business is Business

…. A Tough Competition

I had a friend (former college player and LPGA Tour player) play against her own daughter (college scholarship player at a major D-1 school) in a state golf championship. The mother won the hard fought competition. At the end, the daughter said, “Mom, you are not supposed to eat your young!”  The mom reached over and gave her a big hug and said, “I love you, but that was competition. Now, where would you like to go for ice cream?”

It is okay to win. You can even beat a family member and still love them and go have an ice cream. The point is to compete when you are playing and leave it on the course. It is okay to give it your full effort and then leave it there and go enjoy another arena of your life.
